Celebrate O Canada with this stunning pure silver polar bear coin. Order today.

For Canadians, "north" is more than just geography: it's part of our identity, our history, our heritage – it's a way of life. And there's no better emblem for the True North than the polar bear shown on this coin. The snow-coloured titan of the Arctic is the most famous animal resident of Northern Canada. In a land shaped by wind, sea and ice, it is a symbol of strength, hardiness and, increasingly, climate change. The beauty of the Canadian Arctic shines on Coin #1. Subscribe to the series to guarantee a complete set of iconic Canadian images in 2020!

  • A DOSE OF CANADIANA: This series is your dose of Canadiana in 2020 and it will add several iconic Canadian images to your collection.
  • A UNIFORM LOOK: The curve text ("CANADA"), date ("2020") and maple flourish are the unifying features of this series. You'll find them on the reverse of all six coins, where they complete our 2020 celebration of Canada.

The reverse design by Canadian wildlife artist Claude Thivierge steps into the remote Canadian Arctic landscape, where a polar bear (Ursus maritimus) mother and cub are standing on the edge of sea ice. The reverse includes the curve text "CANADA" above a maple flourish and the year "2020". The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

"The polar bear is the cultural symbol of the Arctic and the Canadian emblem of power and beauty. However, it is a species of special concern in Canada because of its vulnerability to human activity and to certain natural phenomena. This image is both a tribute to the spirit of the Great North and a reminder of our responsibility toward the environment, which is a proud part of our national identity."Claude Thivierge: Artist
