The Japanese character “Wa” further reinforces the notion of harmony.
Enduring friendship across the decades - Unique double date (1929-2009) commemorates the 80th anniversary of Canada in Japan.
Canada’s first Japanese immigrant arrived in New Westminster (British Columbia) in 1877. As regular steamship service between Yokohama and Vancouver increased, the growing number of Japanese immigrants prompted Japan to establish a Consulate in Vancouver.
