• 1967 Silver Dollar: Your first coin: The 1967 silver dollar “Centennial of Confederation” honours Canada’s 100th anniversary as a country. This iconic Canadian design features an image of a flying Canada goose, designed by Alex Colville.
• 1949 Silver Dollar: The 1949 silver dollar “Newfoundland” honours Newfoundland for becoming the tenth province in Canada. John Cabot discovered the province in 1497 onship “Matthew”. The latin phrase below the ship reads “FLOREAT TERRA NOVA” (“May the new found land flourish.”)
• 1939 Silver Dollar: The 1939 silver dollar “Royal Visit” celebrates the visit of George VI and Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Canada. The reverse features an image of the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa and the latinphrase “FIDE SVORVM REGNAT” (“He reigns by the faith of his people.”)
• 1958 Silver Dollar: The1958 silver dollar “British Columbia Commemorative” celebrates the establishment of British Columbia as a crown colony. The reverse showcases a totem pole with mountains in the background.
• 1935 Silver Dollar: first Canadian silver dollar ever struck for circulation. The 1935 silver dollar “Voyageur” commemorates the 25th anniversary of King George V’s accession to the throne, and is the very first Canadian silver dollar struckfor circulation. The reverse features a voyageur and a First Nations paddler on a canoe.
• 1964 Silver Dollar: The 1964 silver dollar “Confederation” commemorates the centennial of the 1864 meetingsin Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and QuebecCity. The reverse features the French fleurs-de-lis, the Irish shamrock, the Scottish thistle and the English rose.
