Designed by Tony Bianco, your coin features an engraved lakeside setting on a mid-summer day. Rolling hills rise up towards the colour portion of the design,where the sun hangs high in the blue-coloured sky. Sunlight passing though the cirrus clouds produces aspectrum-coloured band known as a fire rainbow, which is enhanced by a blacklight-activated effect. Theobverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

• The sun must be high in the sky—higher than 58 degrees above the horizon—to produce a fire rainbow effect. Because of this, the phenomenon is very rare occurrence north of the 55th parallel and south of the equator,although the odds of seeing one in Canada are greater during the mid-summer months.
• Within the cirrus clouds, the hexagonal plate icecrystals must also be aligned with their faces parallel to the ground in order to create the rainbow-like optical illusion.
