The Yogi Bear coin is a part of the Cartoon Characters seriesfrom the Mint of Poland. This series of coins was created especially for collectors who remember thesewell know cartoon characters.
Yogi Bear was the first breakout character created by Hanna-Barbara Productions. He made his debut in 1958 in "The Huckleberry Hound Show". Three years laterwhen he became more popular than Huckleberry, he was given his own "The Yogi Bear Show". Yogi as a resident of the fictional JellystoneNational Park, whose name was a reference to Yellowstone, the oldest national park in the world, together with his companion Boo Boo Bear, primarily dealt with acquiring food, preferable by stealing picnicbaskets from campers.
