Reporting to the Manager, Accounts Payable, the Student - Financial Clerk is responsible for processing computerized invoices on a daily basis, preparing and posting invoices for non-inventory or non-shippable products or services, reviewing invoices to ensure invoice accuracy and maintaining a proper filing system of invoices and supporting documents.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program related to Accounting
- Knowledge of general accounting principles
- Ability to prepare daily bank deposits
- Knowledge of computerized accounting system
- Ability to prepare vendor payment runs and facilitate the signing thereof, as well as initiating and entering wire payments
- Knowledge of spreadsheet packages such as Excel
- Ability to respond to staff and customer inquiries in regards to invoices and billing problems
- Able to Identify and ensure all sales taxes (GST/HST/QST) are coded
- Knowledge on how to complete employee travel expense claims
- Bilingualism (English and French) preferred
