The Royal Canadian Mint is hiring a Senior Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Revenue & Cost, the Senior Analyst is responsible to provide ongoing analytical support for Financial Planning and Analysis activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as financial business partner and maintain strong relationships with divisional and business line partners.
- Assist in the development of business budgets, forecasts, and the annual Corporate Plan while working closely with operational contacts in the business ensuring integration with operational strategies and plans.
- Responsible for the timely analysis of business financial results including monthly and quarterly explanations of variances vs. budget and forecast, and other ad hoc reports.
- Provide insights and recommendations to help support sound business decision-making and use strong business acumen to translate complex ideas into easy to understand concepts.
- Lead analyst in the maintenance of the Variance Analysis model including updating for new products and prices and analysis of product performance.
- Action other responsibilities as assigned, including projects or initiatives to ensure successful delivery on FP&A objectives.
Requirements
- University degree in related area.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of related business experience.
- Strong Microsoft DAX knowledge.
- Fluent in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Able to independently and efficiently synthesize large amounts of data within tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail is paramount.
- Success with analyzing costing data and making sound business recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with demonstrated success communicating sometime technical information with financial and non-financial individuals.
- Strong background in business processes.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
